GP waiting times are ridiculous if you want an appointment its up to 4 weeks wait unless it’s an emergency and then you only get 5 mins. When you do get an appointment you are never seen on time and end up waiting sometimes an hour

Agree that you often end up waiting up to an hour past your appointment booking. However, I don’t think you generally have to wait 4 weeks to be seen, that might just be one situation you experienced.

In general, in my experience, you can be seen within 2 days of contacting the GP. You are given appropriate time to discuss anything you want to discuss. If you only get 5 minutes, the chances are you shouldn’t be wasting the GPs time with a minor headache. The internet and paracetemol are powerful things these days.

If you wait an hour it shows that the GP is giving preceding patients as long as they need, not just the nominal 10 minutes (or whatever). That’s good, isn’t it?
